Patrice Evra: Scholes hated ‘11 v 0’ shadow play
Patrice Evra has revealed the differences he has experienced between tactics and training in Serie A and the Premier League.
Evra won six Premier League titles and the Champions League with Manchester United before joining Juventus in 2014.
Speaking to sports journalist Duncan Castles, the France international discussed how training sessions in Italy are at odds with those in England.
“You do a lot of elevens against zero. If you try this in England… people will say ‘this is crazy!’ said Evra, recalling when an ’11 v 0’ training session run by former United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz angered team-mate Paul Scholes.
“I remember ‘Scholesy’ kicking the ball away when Carlos said ‘OK, let’s have a little game’.”
