McDonnell 'fingers badly burnt and he needs to learn'

Labour backbenchers John Mann and Emma Reynolds on the party's U-turn over the government's fiscal charter.

They told Jo Coburn about the meeting of MPs on Monday night where they learned about the change in policy.

Mr Mann said: “Let’s be generous to John McDonnell. He’s very inexperienced. He’s had his fingers badly burnt and he needs to learn.”
