The Twisted Wheel

The Twisted Wheel

Manchester's Brazennose Street (and later Whitworth Street) venue became the birthplace of the music scene known as Northern Soul.

Between the years of 1963 and 1971, all-nighter events, hard-to-find music and live appearances by soul artists helped put Northern Soul and the Twisted Wheel on the musical map and paved the way for later all-nighter venues like The Golden Torch and the Wigan Casino.
