The Mexican president, Enrique Pena Nieto, condemned the attack and demanded an investigation.
The US general leading the coalition against the so-called Islamic State group says progress has been made in the last year but says it will be a long fight. General John Allen said Iraq risked collapse but was now challenging IS.
Nigeria is well known for its music - from the flamboyant king of Afro beat, the late Fela Kuti, to the modern dance floor fillers like D'banj, 2Face and Whizzkid. Now the MUSON School of Music, which is the main conservatoire in Nigeria has teamed up with some jazz musicians from London. Will Ross has been to have a listen.
