Wigan Casino

Richard Searling presents a special show for BBC Radio Stoke, celebrating legendary venue the Wigan Casino, once voted the best disco in the world by Billboard Magazine.

It held its first ever all-nighter 42 years ago on Sunday 23rd September 1973 and closed after 8 wonderful years with all-night events in September and December of 1981. A fire in the spring of 1982 meant that the venue sadly had to be demolished.
