Steve Cram: Focusing on Paula only benefits drug cheats

Paula Radcliffe has said questions raised during a parliamentary select committee "effectively implicated" her in an article published in the Sunday Times investigating doping in UK athletes.

In response to these allegations the three-time London Marathon winner issued a statement saying she was "devastated" that her name had been "linked to these wide-ranging accusations".

Speaking to Mark Pougatch, Steve Cram commended Radcliffe's decision to defend herself.

“She’s come out on the front foot and done what any of us would do” said the former world champion track and field athlete.

“If we spend too much of our time focussing on a sensational story like this, it only benefits one group of people and that’s the people who are still cheating.”
