Calais Migrant Crisis

BBC chats to young migrants in Calais, Garissa Peace Conference, Facebook drone

As the migrant crisis continues in Calais the BBC chats to young migrants attempting to reach Britain's shores.

Kenya's new academic year starts in a few weeks, but for now it seems as though Garissa University will not be opening its doors at that time. However, a group of activists is trying to change that with a peace conference, which is being held on the University grounds until Sunday. Newsday speaks to Qamar Kassim, a resident of Garissa, and an activist with the Northern Advocacy Initiative, which helped organise the conference.

When you think of the social media giant Facebook, you probably think of status updates and people sharing their holiday photos. But the company has now built its own massive drone - wider than a Boeing 737 - that it hopes will bring high-speed wireless internet to remote parts of the world. It was unveiled at an event on Thursday as JP Mangalindan, technology reporter for Mashable explains.
