The melodic music of the Moog

Even if you don’t know the name Moog, you more than likely recognise the sound.

Invented by Dr Robert Moog in the mid-60s, the Moog synthesiser changed musical history.

It allowed musicians to create electronic sounds and manipulate them using changes in electrical voltage – and a new era in music began.

It is 10 years since Dr Moog died – and London's Barbican is holding three nights of tribute performances featuring Will Gregory - who's also one half of Goldfrapp - and his Moog Ensemble.
