Greek Leader Seeks Parliamentary Approval on Bailout
Greek bailout deal, Iran nuclear talks, Nigeria military shake-up
Greek Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, begins negotiations today to convince his own parliament to approve the terms of the bailout he agreed in Brussels. Eurozone leaders require new laws to be approved by Greek MPs by the end of Wednesday involving increased taxes, cuts in pensions and liberalising the labour market.
There are indications that confirmation of an agreement could be imminent in talks between Iran and six world powers aimed at reaching a deal on Tehran's nuclear programme in the Austrian capital, Vienna. The world powers including the United States, Russia and Britain have been negotiating with Tehran for 17 days.
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed new defence chiefs and filled the post of National Security Adviser hours after he sacked his previous top defence staff. He has said his priority is tackling Boko Haram Islamist militants.
