Darren Campbell: Justin Gatlin leaves me emotionless

Retired British sprinter Darren Campbell has revealed that watching 100m runner Justin Gatlin, who has served two drug bans, leaves him cold.

“I cut off emotions. I don’t add feeling into it - there’s no point. I’m just here to do a job and Justin Gatlin ran the 100m in 9.75 seconds and… yeah,” said the 41-year-old former European 100m champion.

“Justin has that belief and right now. He is a hungry animal and he’s going to be very difficult to stop.”

Justin Gatlin won the 100m at Thursday’s Rome Diamond League meeting in a time of 9.75 seconds, a record for the meeting.
