Sepp Blatter: I am the godfather of women’s football

Speaking to BBC's Caroline Rigby, FIFA president Sepp Blatter has said that he is the ‘godfather of women's football’.

“Women’s football is definitely my […] baby” said the 79 year old.

“I consider myself a little bit, as the godfather of women’s football in FIFA”

“Today we can say that women’s football is everywhere in the world, in all the 209 national associations women can play football”.

Sepp Blatter is seeking a fifth term in office. Candidates standing against him in the upcoming presidential election include retired footballer Luis Figo and Jordanian Prince, Ali Bin Al Hussein.
