Gladys Hayman’s Story
Seventy years ago, 8 May finally brought an end to almost six years of war against Nazi Germany – although the battle still raged for another three months in the Far East.
Gladys Hayman from Newquay was a 14-year-old schoolgirl living in Kent when war broke out.
As the war progressed she ended up playing a vital role in the nation's efforts to defeat Hitler…
