Flavio’s story
Portugal is often praised for its integration of immigrants - one study says it’s the second best country in the world for this, behind Sweden. But in the poor, immigrant suburbs of cities like Lisbon, there have been long-simmering tensions with police. Flavio Almada and his friend Celso Lopes give their account of a recent incident which has re-ignited claims of police brutality and racism.
