Wild boar

There are concerns wild boar in the Forest of Dean are being left injured by people illegally shooting them with inappropriate weapons - some say even bows and arrows!

Shooting boar with a licensed rifle which is powerful enough to kill them outright is entirely within the law (where you have permission from the landowner).

But BBC Radio Gloucestershire has heard reports of boar being found with small calibre bullets and even air rifle pellets embedded in their flesh - which have failed to kill them.
