Kelly Sotherton wants gold medal back

UK heptathlete, Kelly Sotherton, "would love" her stolen Commonwealth gold medal back after it was robbed from her house while she slept. "It was my first major gold medal and my only gold medal" she said, adding she would like to see it returned as it holds such sentimental value.

She realised the house had been robbed when she walked into the lounge and noticed "all the bags had been tipped out"

Her wallet, passport and diving licence were left but her Commonwealth gold was stolen. Mrs Sotherton has pleaded for the medal, which she won in the 2006 Commonwealth Games, to be returned and says she doesn't care if it is handed back anonymously.

She thanked people for helping her appeal on twitter, particularly Sir Chris Hoy, who tweeted to his 641,000 followers asking for help in finding the medal.
