Michael Fallon: I 'misspoke' on immigration
Defence secretary Michael Fallon has said he “misspoke” when warning that some areas of the UK could be “swamped” by immigrants without changes to European Union rules on movement.
Mr Fallon said he “was very careless” with the words he used and meant to say there are places that feel “under pressure” from large numbers of immigrants.
