HGV Driver Shortage Threat To Logistics Industry

Logistics in Northamptonshire employs 45,000 people, but people in the industry say it faces a crisis because of a shortage of qualified lorry drivers. Many Large Goods Vehicle, or LGV, drivers are coming up to retirement age, and its claimed that not enough young people are coming forward to replace them. The Road Haulage Association is even warning of a possible break-down in the supply chain and how our stuff gets around.
