The cost of crime to the rural economy in Northants has increased by 20% in the past year. The rural insurer NFU Mutual says it totalled £840,000 in Northants in 2013.

The rural insurer NFU Mutual has compiled figures which reveal that crimes such as thefts of farm vehicles, livestock, machinery and fuel totalled £840,000 in Northamptonshire in 2013, compared to £700,000 in 2012.
