Erin Brockovich
Erin Brockovich talks about her life and career as an advocate and activist.
In the year 2000 Erin Brockovich leapt to fame after Hollywood made a film starring Julia Roberts about her remarkable true story. In Business Matters today, Erin herself joins us live from LA throughout the programme to reflect on the events leading up to her victory in 1996, when, as a humble secretary with no legal training, she successfully managed to get a settlement for victims of chromium poisoning. It was the largest sum ever awarded in a US class-action lawsuit and Erin has been working as a consumer advocate and environmental activist ever since.
