Historian Lucy Worsley on the nation's obsession with murder
For centuries, a good murder mystery has fascinated us. Our screens are filled with series like Morse, our shelves with Agatha Christie. But what makes a good "whodunnit", and why do we love them so much?
Historian Lucy Worsley has looked into what she calls this "national obsession" and is presenting a three part documentary, A Very British Murder.
A Very British Murder begins on BBC Four on Monday 30th September at 9pm.
The book is available now.
