Electric shocks, fuses and residual-current devices (RCDs)
An introduction to the concept of electric shocks and the functions of fuses and residual current devices (RCDs).
A fuse is designed to allow several amperes of current before it melts or blows. In this way it protects household wiring.
A residual current device protects against electrocution by detecting any difference in current between connecting wires.
