It comes as Suffolk's rich history is a key part of a new series on BBC 2.
The Great British Story has been put together by Michael Wood with Carenza Lewis who will be joined at Ickworth by the One Show's Joe Crowley for a panel discussion chaired by BBC Look East's Stewart White.
Several sites in Suffolk make the final cut of the programme, including Long Melford's big community dig last summer and the Anglo Saxon owner of Dagworth, near Stowupland.
The event at Ickworth runs from 10am - 5pm and is free.
Aswell as the new Ickworth Lives experience in the restored basement of the house, there will be local history groups to guide you on how to research your own home or family.
(The Great British Story starts Friday 25th at 9pm on BBC2)
