Metal thefts have fallen in Derbyshire
There are plans to spend an extra £20m on Staffordshire's roads and pavements
There are plans to spend an extra £20m on Staffordshire's roads and pavements, over two years, from April. It comes after residents told the council it should prioritise road maintenance and deal with potholes.
Metal is in high demand across the country but in Derbyshire, police say the number of metal thefts has fallen since an operation to tackle it started.
In November there were 160 incidents and so far this month there have been 60. More than 60 people have been arrested.
