Are all dogs dangerous?

Owners of dangerous dogs which cause harm, could face up to two years in jail, under new proposals on sentencing for judges.

Last year, 1200 people were convicted for offences involving dangerous dogs - an increase of a third.

There'll be a consultation on the new guidelines, which will help magistrates distinguish between pet owners who are generally responsible and those who are more careless.
