Fifty years ago, an erupting Volcano deep in the South Atlantic set-off a chain of events that brought 268 people – an island’s entire population - to live in Hampshire.

It propelled the village of Calshot into news headlines across the world.

For the anniversary, BBC Radio Solent’s Chris Carnegy gained rare access to Tristan – and met a conviction that the whole episode was planned in heaven.
