A project to regenerate Bedford High Street

A £3m project to regenerate Bedford High Street has been launched. Funding has been provided by the Heritage Lottery Fund as well as the council, Bedford BID and local landlords.

A report out today reveals one-in-three shops are empty in some parts of the country; but St Albans is highlighted as a best performing large centre with a vacancy rate below one per cent.
