A former government minister has started 16 months in jail for an expenses fiddle involving bogus mortgage claims. Elliot Morley originally said he didn't realise that his mortgage had, in fact, already been paid off.
But he eventually pleaded guilty to dishonestly claiming more than 30-thousand-pounds.
