Why do estate agents have such a bad reputation?

Every so often, one of those polls is commissioned to find out which professions the public likes and trusts most, and which is likes least.

Journalists usually come pretty low down. But some comfort to us is knowing we probably won't ever come last because that spot's usually reserved for the estate agent.
