Desborough residents vote for edge-of-town supermarket
People in Desborough went to the polls last night to cast their votes on whether they support the application for a supermarket on Magnetic Park. The majority of voters were in favour of the plans.
Its a complicated saga - the tale of two supermarkets in Desborough. Well residents in the town went to the polls last night to cast their votes on whether they support the application for a supermarket on Magnetic Park, on the outskirts of the town.
The result was resoundingly in favour of a supermarket on the edge of town with 22% of residents turning out and casting 1,367 votes in favour of a new store with just 361 against.
