Contemporary and classical tracks from around the world with Mark Coles.

This week Mark Coles brings a selection of new releases to the (turn) table. There's a couple of Turkish tracks that demonstrate how different styles can be combined to make something distinctive, a young British female singer-songwriter whose sparse arrangements are full of melancholy, music from Senegalese favourites, as well as from a Malian teacher (only his third in 4 decades). And we play one of the bands who will be appearing at this weekend's WOMAD festival in the UK, playing on the newly-renamed "Charlie Gillett Stage", in memory of the man who did so much to bring world music to public attention and acclaim via The BBC World Service.
