This week, Mark Coles' guest in the studio, playing a selection of world music that has influenced him, will be acclaimed singer/songwriter Alejandro Escovedo.

Brought up on a diet of Texan and Mexican music, his own work has absorbed influences from all over the world and been lauded by critics and musicians alike. His latest album sees contributions from friends/fans Bruce Springsteen and Ian Hunter. He talks to Mark about the music he heard as he was growing up and what he's listening to nowadays.
