Insecticidal thug
Here is another insecticidal thug - the heath tiger beetle. It is a pursuit predator. It has huge eyes to detect prey, then it will fly and run after it and crush it in its jaws. It'll eat anything - caterpillars, flies, ants - and are even brave enough to bite people, as Chris Packham demonstrates. Footage shows the heath tiger beetle in action as it races across the ground and grabs a small insect.
