The sixth annual Eurovision Song Contest broadcast from Palais des Festivals et des Congres in Cannes, France.Luxembourg won the contest for the first time with the song "Nous les amoureux" sung by Jean-Claude Pascal.Finland, Spain and Yugoslavia made their debut in the event and it was the first year the contest was held on a Saturday night - a convention which still continues today.
