Cirque du Click
Click travels to Tanzania, to meet contestants for the $15m X-Prize, who have been challenged to come up with the best way of educating children through tablets.
Click travels to LA to see how transport is being revolutionised through the use of Uber, self-driving cars and even a potentially automated hyperlane highway. We also travel to Tanzania, to a village where the $15m X-Prize is to be hosted in 2017-18, to get exclusive access to the test bed for the contestants. The prize will be awarded to the team who come up with the best way of educating children through tablets in reading (Swahili), writing, and arithmetic. We see the children discover tablets for the first time and talk to the five finalists about their solutions that they'll be testing out over the next 15 months. Lara Lewington looks at how virtual reality is being used by film-makers at the Sheffield Doc Fest and the team visits a high-tech circus based around technology.
