In 2001 a British Economist at a US investment bank coined a term to encourage investment in 4 dynamic, emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India and China. This month the leaders of the BRICS nations (now including South Africa) held their annual summit in India against a backdrop of disappointing economic growth and diverging fortunes. Fifteen years on, Yogita Limaye asks company bosses and academics what the grouping has achieved.
