Rough Aunties

Kim Longinotto's gripping film from South Africa follows the women of an organisation called Bobbi Bear who work tirelessly to help children who have been raped. Nicknamed 'rough aunties' they offer support, comfort and encouragement. And they try to ensure the offenders are prosecuted. Rough Aunties reveals the heart breaking consequences of the horrible things people do to one another, but also how the victims receive help from strong women. In the midst of so much suffering, that offers a bit of hope.
