Libya is in chaos and UN-sponsored talks to end the conflict are failing to make progress. Libya has loosely divided into several parts: two rival administrations based in Tripoli in the west and Tobruk in the east. Extremists control three towns on Libya's Mediterranean coast, whilst the south is in the midst of tribal warfare.
