From the Presidential Medal of Freedom to the Pulitzer Prize, Toni Morrison, received the highest literary awards during her career; her work, such as the novels 'The Bluest Eye' and 'Beloved', chronicle African-American history and are renowned for examining the handprint of the past on current society.
