The Art of Chinese Painting

Kate Bryan of the fine art society travels to China to discover the ancient art of Chinese painting, one of the world's oldest continuous artistic traditions.

The ancient art of Chinese painting is one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in history. To coincide with a once in a lifetime exhibition at London's Victoria and Albert Museum Masterpieces of Chinese Painting, Kate Bryan, Head of Contemporary at The Fine Art Society and former Hong Kong resident, travels to China to learn about the golden age of Chinese landscape; discover why ink is still favoured over paint and how the country's unique aesthetic was heavily influenced by those age old standards of class and politics.
