Kenya's supreme court is about to decide whether to decriminalise homosexuality. It's a decision which will be keenly watched across Africa where dozens of countries still have anti-gay legislation. One of the most prominent gay voices in Kenya was the award winning writer Binyavanga Wainaina, who has just died aged 48. HARDtalk spoke to Wainaina in 2014 after he went public about his sexuality. He was at the centre of the Africa-wide debate about freedom, identity and culture. Did his stand change hearts and minds?
