On Doctor's Orders
Dr Eric Knowles will see you as he looks back at some of the most profitable medical purchases on the show.
Dr Eric Knowles unpacks a Gladstone bagful of medical antiques and collectibles as he studies some of the best of the show's buys down the years. In Wetherby, a pair of doctors unbox a collection of gruesome slides, and in Gloucester, a couple have designs on a vintage anatomy poster of the human body. Eric also learns about the pioneering work of the Royal College of Nursing. Meanwhile, Roo Irvine learns about the work of battlefield surgeons in the English Civil War to treat soldiers with musket wounds, and in Lichfield, Natasha Raskin Sharp is amazed to hear about Dr Erasmus Darwin and his theories of evolutions – long before those of his more famous grandson, Charles Darwin. At the end of the show, Eric lists the top six medically themed purchases in a chart countdown.
