Gladys Cooper seized an opportunity and conned her way into an audition which led to 'on the job' training at The Gaiety Theatre in the early 20th century.
Decades later, she was given a Hollywood contract. In spite of all the glamour, for some time, she lived on a farm and was very down to earth. The darling of the West End who met Ellen Terry and was friendly with Noel Coward, J M Barrie and Peter Ustinov to name but three - looks back on her long and exciting career....
