James Morrison introduces music from the Desford Colliery Band, Natalie Cressman, Red Rodney, Jim Self, Chase and Albert Mangelsdorff, plus covers of Stevie Wonder and Frankie Valli.
Brass virtuoso James Morrison introduces an amazing selection of brass music, ranging from classic jazz and big band to contemporary covers of pop and hip hop, and original new music. Triad Brass and the Soul Rebels perform covers of Frankie Valli and Stevie Wonder alongside a high-octane cover of Al Jarreau from Smelley Bone. Four-trumpet powerhouse band Chase, trombonist/vocalist Natalie Cressman, Riot Jazz, and London band The Filthy Six perform brilliant original music, and there’s music from jazz legends Red Rodney, Albert Mangelsdorff, Bill Watrous and Carl Fontana. The Desford Colliery Band play a march, and French trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary performs Harry James’s virtuosic Concerto for Trumpet. James also pays tribute to recently departed tuba legend Jim Self.
