Tunes, chat and Talk Talk’s The Colour Of Spring at 40

Mark and Stuart present a feast of music and chat for weekend breakfast, plus they celebrate the 40th anniversary of Talk Talk’s album 'The Colour Of Spring’.

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast.

Today, they celebrate the 40th anniversary of Talk Talk’s third album ‘The Colour Of Spring.’ Released in February 1986, the album is considered a transition point between the band's earlier, synth-pop sound, and their later, more improvisational style. The album, which included singles 'Life's What You Make It' and 'Give It Up', became Talk Talk's greatest commercial success.

Also on the show ... long-running feature ‘The Chain’, which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8700 songs.

There’s also the chance to take part in ‘Tea Time Theme Time’, guessing the link between three top tunes.

With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started.
