Faithful castle retainer Old Thady recalls his service to the Rackrents: hundreds and thousands. Read by Cyril Cusack.
Ireland. Old Thady has served under four disastrous generations of the Rackrents - Sir Patrick drinks, Sir Murtagh litigates, Sir Kit gambles, and Sir Condy merely fritters away the family fortunes - and yet he is still the ever faithful retainer at the bankrupt Castle Rackrent.
Tens, hundreds, thousands - Old Thady admits Sir Condy's ruinousness finances were not helped by someone close to home....
