Igor Stravinsky's Firebird Suite

Mark Forrest introduces an afternoon of of specially made recordings from the Belfast International Arts Festival plus the theme of dance continues with Stravinsky.

Mark Forrest brings you an afternoon of exclusive music-making. Continuing the theme of dance running throughout the week, Rebel's dramatic ballet Les Elémens is performed by the SWR Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart, the BBC Philharmonic play Stravinsky's magical Firebird Suite and John Adams' The Chairman Dances, from Act 3 of 'Nixon in China' is performed in Finland with conductor Elim Chan. There will also be highlights from the Belfast International Arts Festival. Today, pianists Charles Owen presents a programme of Cecile Chaminade, Manuel De Falla and Maurice Ravel.
