John Wilson conducts the Sinfonia of London

The Sinfonia of London heard live at the Barbican Centre in a programme of string works from best-loved British composers including Vaughan Williams, Elgar and Britten.
Described by The Guardian as 'a handpicked supergroup', whose rare 'live performances are a special occasion', the Sinfonia of London's 'Serenade' programme opens with Vaughan Williams's heavenly Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and ends with Elgar's virtuosic Introduction and Allegro. Along with these classics, John Wilson has a rarity by Arthur Bliss, a former Master of the King's Music, and Frederick Delius. And they are joined by the young British tenor Laurence Kilsby and horn player Christopher Parkes for Benjamin Britten’s brilliantly-written Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings.
