The BBC's Director General Tim Davie and its head of news, Deborah Turness, have both left their posts.
It follows criticism that a Panorama programme may have misled viewers over the way a speech by American President Donald Trump was edited.
The Telegraph newspaper published a leaked BBC memo, suggesting the programme pushed two parts of the President’s speech together, so he appeared to explicitly encourage the Capitol Hill riots of January 2021.
