Music, chat and The Smiths' Mike Joyce

Mark and Stuart present a feast of great music and The Smiths' drummer Mike Joyce shares his ‘First, Last and Everything’ and talks about his forthcoming autobiography.

Mark and Stuart present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast.

Today they are joined by drummer Mike Joyce. Mike famously played drums in influential Manchester band The Smiths, from their formation in 1982 until they disbanded in 1987. He's also played with artists including Buzzcocks, Suede, Sinead O'Connor, Julian Cope and Peter Doherty.

Mike shares his ‘First, Last and Everything’ - that’s his first record, the most recent one he's enjoyed and the record that means ‘everything’ to him. He reflects on his time in The Smiths and his career in music and tells Mark and Stuart about his forthcoming autobiography.

Also on the show... long-running feature ‘The Chain’ which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8700 songs.

With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started.
