Donald and Catriona must have their lobsters ready for collection, as even at Christmas time, fishermen will make plans to go to sea.
Situated at the southern tip of the isle of Harris, the town of Leverburgh boasts a small but healthy fishing industry, a ferry port, and constant sea traffic to the numerous islands in the Sound of Harris. The area is remote, and for the small population, a little hope is on the horizon in the shape of the first housing scheme in 60 years. There are many daily challenges to overcome while living in a remote location, but the strong sense of community in Leverburgh ensures that their combined strengths are for the wider benefit.
